Shift4’s Certify Test Environment Is Moving

If you use Shift4's test environment, Certify, then you should read this important message, as it contains important information that may impact your ability to run tests with Shift4. Certify is most often used by independent software vendors that supply point-of-sale and property management systems, as well as those merchants that own and operate their own systems.

We are in the process of moving Certify to a new data center. Please note that Certify will be unavailable on June 4, 2016 as we complete this migration. Leading up to this transition, we will be making some changes to the way the test environment communicates.

One of these changes is that we have a new URL that will allow you to connect to Certify using our Universal Transaction Gateway® (UTG®). Effective immediately, the new URL that you should use is ns.shift4test.com.

If this applies to you and you have not already made this change, please do so immediately to ensure a seamless transition.

Please update the URL by completing the following steps:
  • Close the UTG Stand Alone or stop the UTG Service on the workstation/server.
  • Open UTG TuneUp.
  • Select the Express tab.
  • Select the TCP/IP sub tab.
  • In the Host field, enter ns.shift4test.com.
  • Click Save.
  • Open the UTG Stand Alone and verify that you are connected to Shift4 in the Global Status area.
  • (Optional) Close the UTG Stand Alone and restart the UTG Service.

Note: Some merchant environments, such as complete Linux/Unix or Apple environments, cannot support Shift4's UTG. If you are using one of these test environments, please use the new URL for Direct Server-to-Server Post: https://cfapi.shift4test.com/api/s4tran_action.cfm.
